At Digital Pacific, we believe in a more sustainable world for all. Organisations everywhere are constantly working on reducing their environmental emissions to meet government imposed and self-imposed emissions caps. We believe every single business, no matter how large or small, should play a role in this responsibility.

You can rest easy knowing that your online presence is contributing to the prevention of thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. The purchase of Digital Pacific hosting services is the equivalent of planting several acres of trees or removing several cars from the road. We have calculated our carbon footprint (emissions) representing the impact of everything Digital Pacific uses across our business operations. This includes power used by hosting servers, routers and air conditioners. In order to neutralise these emissions we have purchased carbon offset credits.

Digital Pacific strives to create a socially responsible business and to encourage and inspire others to do the same.

What else does Digital Pacific do to help the environment?

Earth Hour and Digital Pacific.

Australia’s commercial business sector is responsible for around 10% of national greenhouse gas emissions. But if the commercial sector turned off lights when buildings weren’t in use and combined this with other cost effective technology, lighting emissions could be reduced by 70%. If the inner-city areas of Sydney alone did this, this would save 2-4 million tones of greenhouse gas emissions.

Joining Earth Hour was an opportunity for Digital Pacific to show our customers and employees that we are serious about reducing climate change. Earth Hour was the first step in a campaign for Sydney to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 5% in 2007. We have shown leadership on emissions reduction by committing to Earth Hour. We hope that our involvement will inspire others to follow suit.

Fourth Crossing Wildlife.

Fourth Crossing Wildlife is an education site on Australian native animals. In the site they provide a range of information on native animals and also offer short term care tips to people who may be holding native animals for short periods before being handed over to a licensed carer. They are a wildlife carer with 6 years of experience in caring for native animals, and do so on a volunteer basis. All care, including housing, food and medication is done at their own cost, and all animals are released back into the wild.

ozED.

ozED provides support and referral advice to persons and families that are diagnosed with Ectodermal Dysplasias. Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED) is a genetic condition affecting the Ectoderm layer during fetus development.

Triodia.

This website was set up to display research undertaken on a species of grass in the Kimberleys. The research is a PhD project through Charles Darwin University and the work is undertaken at Australian Wildlife Conservancy property, Mornington Santuary. The site is for other researchers to access data from the project.

Nakura Baby Orphanage.

Mission in Action Nakuru Baby Orphanage aims to provide a loving and safe environment for Kenyan orphans.

Seniors NSW.

National Seniors NSW are a group of people over 50 years of age who belong to the National Seniors Association and meet on a regular basis to enjoy the social activity and physical contact with people of similar views and situations.
